With our Analytical laboratories, we are listed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry in the “Designated Laboratories for the Analysis of Organic Products” for organic certification bodies.

Our activity is based on the analysis of pesticide residues in different matrices. Pesticide residues pose significant risks to human health and the environment. These analyses help identify contaminated products, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and protect consumer health.

We offer a comprehensive testing program to detect pesticide residues in fruits, vegetables, plant-based foods, and flours and baked goods, both through extensive multi-residue analysis (covering 500 active substances) and single active ingredient determinations (glyphosate).

The organic sector in Italy is growing steadily, reaching 92,000 certified operators in 2022* [*SINAB Report “Bio in Numbers 2023”].

The legislative decree D.lgs. 148/2023 regarding organic production and labeling has strengthened the regulatory foundations of the organic sector, emphasizing the crucial role of accredited conformity assessment bodies. This regulation aligns with EU Regulation 765/2008, ensuring high standards in the certification of organic products. Meanwhile, the European Union, with its new Common Agricultural Policy, aims to convert 25% of the Utilized Agricultural Area to organic farming by 2030, reflecting the growing interest of Italian consumers in natural products.

Control bodies in the organic sector must be accredited according to the UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17065 standard and authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture. They must also use laboratories designated by the Ministry and conduct accredited tests for substances not allowed in organic production. This reinforces consumer confidence in the quality and safety of organic products.

EU Regulation 2018/848 plays a key role, establishing precise rules for organic production, certification, and labeling, along with stricter controls. This regulation extends its scope to organic products from third countries, ensuring that by 2025 these products meet the same high standards imposed in the EU.
