We are a ZDHC partner because we share the same goals: supporting the fashion and footwear industries in reducing environmental and health risks associated with hazardous chemicals.

We have developed specific solutions for the textile, leather, fashion, and footwear sectors. Our relationship with companies goes beyond mere compliance; we help create products that meet the demands of the modern consumer.

ZDHC is a multi-stakeholder organization founded in 2011, now comprising over 320 signatories from across the fashion sector, including brands, suppliers, chemical suppliers, and solution providers.

The mission of ZDHC is to lead the global value chain in achieving the highest standards for sustainable chemical management, using resources efficiently and circularly. By doing so, we can contribute to a world where the correct use of chemistry protects life, land, air, and water.

The goal for 2023 is that 100% of the chemical formulations used in the ZDHC community and 70% of the chemical formulations used in the global fashion industry comply with the ZDHC MRSL.

ZDHC - 1

We are an approved ZDHC Solution Provider, and we offer support services to brands, production facilities, and other ZDHC-related stakeholders in their journey towards implementing the Roadmap to Zero programme. As a ZDHC Solution Provider, we play an active role in expanding the impact of the Roadmap to Zero.

The ZDHC programme is divided into three parts, each involving different stages of a product’s production cycle: INPUT, PROCESS, and OUTPUT.

In each of these three phases, different aspects are considered for chemical formulators, suppliers, and brands: Inputfocuses on chemical formulators and helps avoid the use of harmful substances during the production and manufacturing processes in the textile and leather sectors. The Process is the crucial link between input and output. Safer inputs make a significant difference, provided they are used correctly by suppliers. This is essential for reducing environmental impact. With good procedures, the outputs will undoubtedly be cleaner. The Output phase measures indicators such as wastewater, sludge, and air quality, validating the work carried out with chemical inputs and processes.

In our laboratory, we can offer the following solutions for the ZDHC programme

ZDHC - 3

ChemCheck targets chemical product formulators who want to certify their products and make them visible to interested stakeholders. A chemical product complies with the ZDHC MRSL when it meets the limits or does not contain substances listed in the MRSL. Compliant products have a reduced health risk and lower environmental impact and are registered on the ZDHC Gateway, marked with the ChemCheck symbol indicating compliance.

ZDHC - 5

The ClearStream methodology controls wastewater for the textile, leather, and footwear industries. The ZDHC ClearStream report reflects a plant’s performance concerning the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines compliance requirements. ClearStream reports are shared with customers via the ZDHC Gateway. Conducting ClearStream helps avoid duplicate wastewater testing, as it is recognized by both brands and industry certification schemes.

ZDHC - 7

The InCheck service is essential for monitoring and evaluating the input of chemicals in the production cycle of companies throughout the supply chain. Thanks to InCheck, it is possible to ensure that every phase of production complies with ZDHC standards, providing full transparency on all chemicals used. This tool helps companies quickly identify and manage any non-compliance, improving the environmental sustainability of production processes.

ZDHC - 9

Supplier to Zero is a ZDHC programme that supports suppliers in improving their chemical management. We provide support and training in implementing industry technical guidelines to help each supplier reach their full potential. Through this programme, suppliers can enhance their environmental performance. The programme promotes a culture of responsibility and continuous improvement, making it easier to achieve the sustainability goals set by global brands.
