2026 Tuscany DOP and IGP EVO Oil Selection

This year too, the Analytical team was present at the Regional Selection of DOP and IGP Extra Virgin Olive Oils of Tuscany, one of the most anticipated events in the regional olive oil calendar, promoted by the Tuscany Region together with the Florence Chamber of Commerce, PromoFirenze and Fondazione Sistema Toscana.

The morning opened with speeches by the President of the Regional Council Stefania Saccardi, President Eugenio Giani and Councillor Leonardo Marras, who outlined the strategic guidelines for the sector, ranging from the National Olive Growing Plan to olive oil tourism. The debate then gave way to technical and chemo-sensory insights from the industry.

Laura Mazzanti, head of our laboratory, took the stage to illustrate the analytical process that supported the 2026 Selection: how samples are received and handled, which physico-chemical parameters are measured, and how this data integrates with sensory evaluation to define the quality and compliance of oils with DOP and IGP specifications.

Laboratory analysis is an integral part of the selection process — the technical foundation upon which every recognition of excellence is based. A role that Analytical carries out with the same care and rigour both in this institutional context and in its day-to-day work alongside companies in the sector.
