Analytical at the 2025 Tuscan Selection of Oli EVO DOP and IGP

The Analytical team took part in the Selection of the 2025 Tuscan Oli EVO DOP and IGP, held on Wednesday, April 16, at Cinema La Compagnia in Florence. The initiative, promoted by the Tuscany Region in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Florence, PromoFirenze, and Fondazione Sistema Toscana, is a key occasion to celebrate and enhance the entire Tuscan olive oil supply chain. 

The event unfolded over three key sessions. It opened with a theatrical reading themed on olive oil, performed by well-known Tuscan actors including Sergio Forconi, Barbara Enrichi, and Bruno Santini. This was followed by institutional greetings from President Eugenio Giani, Vice President and Regional Minister for Agriculture Stefania Saccardi, and representatives of the partner organizations. 

The core of the event was a talk show moderated by chef Gian Piero Fava, featuring leading voices from the food, wine, and cultural sectors. Among the speakers was Laura Mazzanti, Laboratory Manager at Analytical, representing our team. The discussion focused on the value of Tuscan olive oil in gastronomy, tourism, and territorial promotion. 

The morning concluded with the official awards ceremony for the selected producers, with accolades presented to the best oils in the PDO and PGI categories. Special mentions were also awarded for Best Organic Oil, Best Monocultivar, and Best Packaging. 

Analytical’s contribution to the selection 

The Selection is not merely a celebratory event, but the outcome of a rigorous technical process of qualitative evaluation—one in which Analytical played an active and central role. As an independent laboratory, we contributed to the chemical, physical, and sensory testing of the submitted oils, based on the parameters defined by official specifications. 

Our laboratory’s contribution is illustrated in the official video produced by the Tuscany Region, which documents key phases of the analytical workflow: from sample intake and preparation to the instrumental testing used to determine quality and compliance.
