On 16 October 2026, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia announced, through official press release HM.02.04\/361\/SET.M.EKON.3\/10\/2026<\/strong>, a revision of Government Regulation PP 42\/2024<\/strong>concerning the implementation date of mandatory Halal certification, taking into account the readiness of businesses and the certification system.<\/p>

The announced postponement covers several product categories, including traditional medicines, quasi-pharmaceutical products and supplements, cosmetics, chemical products, genetically engineered products and certain categories of consumer goods.<\/p>
