Companies that voluntarily choose to adhere to GOTS must meet strict environmental and social standards, including those of organic farming. This involves a constant commitment to responsibly managing every aspect of the production process, from the cultivation of raw materials to the commercialization of the finished product. GOTS provides compa-nies with a list of less harmful chemicals, excluding over 1000 toxic substances commonly used in the textile industry. <\/p>\n

GOTS primarily certifies natural fabrics such as cotton, wool, linen, and silk, provided they meet organic farming re-quirements. A fabric can be GOTS certified if it contains at least 95% organic fibers, with flexibility up to 5% to in-clude other natural or artificial fibers, provided they meet specific sustainability criteria. <\/p>\n

Additionally, GOTS mandates the use of sustainable packaging for certified products, including aspects such as labels, buttons, and zippers.
